HEMS – Helping Encouraging Mentoring Serving
A Christian ministry / provincial support group based in the Halifax Regional Municipality. We are a family-based group, open to ALL homeschoolers, that meets for field trips, swimming lessons, science & history fairs, curriculum nights, Mother/Daughter & Father/Son days. We offer a curriculum homeschool conference in early June and a family-oriented one in October. We are part of the HSLDA community and work closely with local government and the Department of Education to maintain the rights of families to educate their children as they deem best for their family.

Central Valley Homeschoolers
We’ve created this blog to help homeschoolers stay connected, and as a place to announce upcoming field trips or other activities. If you would like to host an event or organize an activity, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to email us and we’ll be sure to post all events as they are brought to our attention. We will also be posting activities that might interest the homeschooling community. If you are aware of any events that you haven’t seen mentioned here, please let us know and we’ll be sure to post it. Keep us bookmarked us and check back often. All our events are also listed on Facebook in the Annapolis Valley Homeschoolers group. Comments and suggestions are always welcome!
Events are open to all. Feel free to check it out and join any activity advertised; even if you do not live in “the Valley”. Also, feel free to ask us to post something that may be of interest to other homeschoolers.
